Expected Outcomes and Corresponding Evaluation Methods
Expected Outcomes |
Corresponding Evaluation Methods
| |
Impact on HKU students
Student participants will gain knowledge of the challenges on the countryside and urban-rural disparity, as well as hands-on experience working with a foreign community, evaluating needs and planning activities.
Students in the broader HKU community will also get to learn about the topic of sustainable environmental tourism
The learning outcome for the student participants will be assessed on-site and there will also be a post-trip sharing session
Impact on service recipients and contributions to local community
The local community will benefit from suggestions and recommendations from a student group that is similar to the kind of guests they might want to welcome to the village, and thus be better prepared to accommodate tourists and gain greater confidence in the value of their own culture, thus achieving the stated objectives of Poverty eradication, Reducing inequality and Empowerment
We will be working with Actxplorer to monitor the progress of the homestays in terms of business sales and feedback from the local homestay
